Along with 2010-2011 being the snowiest season on record, the snow melt has helped make 2011 the wettest year on record.
The National Weather Service in Trumbull County has watched the total precipitation rise to 50.82 inches. And that tops the list.
Adding in the precipitation that fell Friday, 2011 will now go down in the record books as the wettest year ever. In second place is 1911 with 50.81 inches. The No. 3 position at 48.58 inches was set in 1956. The year 2006 is No. 4 at 48.47 inches.
