The summer of 2010 has delivered extreme heat to the Eastern & Southern United States. How does that heat compare to the Valley weather? We have had our share of heat and humidity as your energy bill for air conditioning will agree.

The statistics from the National Weather Bureau in Trumbull County indicate that this summer was not a record breaker. June had 5 days at 85 degrees or above. June 2010's average temperature of 68.3 degrees was not in the top ten hottest Junes. July had 7 days at 90 degrees and above. July 2010's average temperature of 72.8 degrees was not one of the top ten hottest Julys. So far, August 2010 has had 9 days at 85 degrees or above. August 2010's average temperature is 72.9 degrees is not a top ten hottest August.

We have a string of sunny, 80 degree days starting this weekend that could move August 2010 into the top ten before Labor Day.

The reason we will remember this as a hot summer is because of the combination of heat and humidity that made it oppressive.
