Native Americans called December's moon the Full Cold Moon, so what do you call a cold January moon?
The Farmers' Almanac says that during the cold and deep snow of midwinter, wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. The Full Wolf Moon shines at 2:32am, January 9th.
Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Some called it the Full Snow Moon, but most tribes applied that name to the next Moon.
