Mill Creek Park was the place to be Saturday.  Families packed the park for some good old fashion sled riding.

Playing in the snow brings out the little kid inside many.  Kristen Gallagher of Girard remembers her days speeding down the snow covered hills.

"It really brings back some great memories of being a kid.  Growing up and sledding with my brother and all my friends," said Gallagher.

Now, the powdery hills of Mill Creek Park are creating new memories. As soon as Gallagher saw the snow this morning she knew her son would want to be here.  So Gallagher and her son, along with his friend, hit the slopes. The trio loved sledding down the hill, and on their 20th trip down, they challenged mom to a race.

"Apparently, I had the advantage and the three of us went down at the same time and mom came out victorious," said Gallagher.

But mom's victory didn't bring down the boys.  They were up for some more fun.

"Well it's fun, so I really don't care who wins or loses.  It's just fun," said Jacob Gallagher

The Gallagher's had a lot of company, dozens of other families took the opportunity to play in the fresh snow too.

"We were excited.  Well, the kids were really excited, and we're going to enjoy it as long as it's here," said Cristy Casey of Liberty.

"You don't need to go to the gym today.  I think all the exercise you need is right here coming back up that hill," said Gallagher.
