If you think the the sun is hot on your skin, you are correct. It may feel hot at times, but if you were to travel to the sun you will find it is around 10,000 degrees F at the surface and then around 28 million degrees near the core. That is hot! Of course, it would take awhile to travel across the sun as it is around 864,000 miles wide.
It would also take awhile to reach the sun. The sun is about 93-million miles away from earth. That would take a little more than 163 years to drive straight through at a rate of 75 mph.
