This winter started with very little snowfall and above-normal temperatures. January, although warm and wet at times, has already stacked up some impressive snowfall stats.

The month, as of January 19, has had 19.6 inches of snowfall accumulate at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Airport. That also has increased our entire season total up to 29.7 inches. That is exactly where we should be in snowfall at this point of the winter season.

We are only 5.3 inches from cracking the January top-ten snowiest. The number ten spot is held by 2010 when we had 24.9 inches. We will have to see how the month turns out, but it looks like it will be a snowy month in the record books. We are already 7.3 inches above the normal snowfall.
