The air we breath is made of many components. The most abundant is Nitrogen. Nitrogen makes up around 78% of the air we breath. Oxygen makes up around 21% and is the second most abundant element. Third is Argon which is just under 1%.

The following are the other elements that make up the remainder of the air we breath:

Carbon Dioxide    - 0.04%
Neon                      - 0.002%
Helium                   - 0.0005%
Methane                 - 0.0002%
Krypton                   - 0.00011%
Hydrogen               - 0.00006%
Nitrous Oxide        - 0.00003%
Carbon Monoxide - 0.00001%

Smaller elements of Xenon, Ozone, Nitrogen Dioxide, Iodine, and Ammonia exist in the air, too.

*Water Vapor will range for a trace to 4% of air near the ground.
