There are a number of reasons you may want to skip a day in your life... a meeting with your boss, a major test, you don't like the weather. Well, on the Pacific island of Samoa, they're taking the bull by the horns, or ripping the calendar by the pages. The Samoan government has decided to align their time with neighboring Australia and New Zealand which are increasing important trading partners. That will mean easier trade and more money.

Sky News reports that those scheduled to work the nonexistent Friday will still be paid in full.

American Samoa is not changing, so residents and tourists can celebrate the same day twice.

Celebrating the New Year twice may be more than your body can handle.
