It is obvious that dry conditions would be the biggest influence in field/brush fires here in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

There are also other factors that play a large role in the threat, too. Fire weather is influenced by not only dry conditions, but also the amount of humidity, wind, and type of fuel.

Fuel for a fire may include: surface litter, leaves, needles, and small twigs.

Low humidity would also influence the fire causing higher ignition and burning potential.

Wind is a big problem with fires as it would also move the fire, as well as fuel it, throughout a fire region.

If a thunderstorm develops and has extremely dry air beneath (the air may evaporate before it reaches the ground), it too could spark a fire by producing lightning.
